The MCIC headquarters is in Lancaster SC. Lancaster’s name
can be traced from fifteenth-century England, when the War of
the Roses was fought between the House of Lancaster and the
House of York, through their first settlement in Lancaster,
Pennsylvania, and down to the county that was established in
South Carolina in 1785, with the red rose, the insignia of the
House of Lancaster, as its emblem. Thus the nickname of
South Carolina's Lancaster is the "Red Rose City."
Lancaster is a small city with all comforts of the big cities, but
without the complications of the big ones. It is an ideal place to
live and to educate your children.
The MCIC is housed by the Lancaster Area Literacy
Cooperative at 105 W. Dunlap St. Lancaster, SC 29720.
